Tis the season to eat eat eat! Well, according to me, it’s always the season to eat. One of my favorite lunch combos has always been hot yummy soup with a delicious sandwich. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having a sandwich by itself, or with another food item to accompany it, but nothing seems to hit the spot more on a fall/winter afternoon that a steaming bowl of soup. On this specific lunch outing, I enjoyed a double whammy. Soup AND chips…
If you want to indulge in sweets, which most of us do from time to time, I feel it’s best to make them at home where ingredients can be monitored. Who doesn’t love warm homemade pie and ice cream after dinner?
It can be a challenge as the weather cools and we slip into grizzly bear hibernation mode and only want to eat, sleep and be cozy at home. The pounds can sneak up on us under the bulky sweaters and coats! Just remember to enjoy treats like chips and pie in moderation and stay active daily. It is possible to enjoy all of the wonderful holiday food and still stay slim, trim and healthy. Moderation and movement are two important things to practice not only during the holidays, but all year round!
